The Woodshed In the summer of 2007, a few church leaders gathered outside of a 2-bay warehouse on the New Life campus and wondered how they could reach more people with the message of Jesus Christ. After some prayer and a few more conversations, the 2000 square foot “Garage” was soon retrofitted with drywall, a stage, some speakers, and 120 chairs. On January 13, 2008, New Life Church launched the first “Garage” church worship gathering, and a little more than 80 people showed up to cheer on the rag-tag bunch of Jesus fanatics.
The Genesis Over time, and after some overcrowding in the Dome, our New Life friends moved to La Plata High School to hold their worship service. We were experiencing some overcrowding of our own, so they generously offered the Dome sanctuary to The Garage church to hold worship at 10:30am on Sunday mornings. We said “thanks,” moved across the parking lot, and have been there ever since. |
